Misread description, didn't stay

Misread description, didn't stay

Had a guest book our place for last night.  4 guests coming.  We have a queen bed in one room, a twin bed in another, and two couches that can be slept on if need be (not pull out).   Clearly spelled out in our listing.    Two guests arrive in a car, were confused where the door was.  I showed them the door, showed them around, and one is "two bedrooms but we have 4 people".  Yes, I say , one will need to sleep on a couch.    Oh, also, and although our normal check in is at 3, our correspondence  indicated a 7pm arrival, so I didn't feel obligated to cut short another obligation to get home by 3 to do turnover.

Anyway, I told them I'd have it ready in 30 minutes, and did.   Texted 'all ready for you' and that was that.

They are one night booking, went down this AM to clean and the place has not been used at all. It's just like I left it yesterday.

All I can think is he went back to where the wives were holed up and told them, and they looked at the listing again and said "Hey look at this, it says one queen and one twin... why did you book this place?  Are YOU going to sleep on the couch?"   And then they went somewhere else.   Never told me they weren't staying.   But hey, fine.   Less cleaning for me.

@Geoff22 best guests!

@Geoff22, let's just hope they don't ask for a refund now...

Something similar happened to us recently.... never found out why they didn't stay! Thankfully they didn't try for a refund. Hopefully your guests won't either 🙂

He didn't read the description nor my messages regarding check in, and arrived earlier than his predicted ETA.  He left me a pretty horrible review with lots of 1 and 2 stars.  Oh well.... I've responded to it, and hope to just move on.
