As much as I love being @Airbnb2 host, the way they treat hosts when AirBnB makes a mistake ithat greatly effects a host is horrible and needs to change. Due to a mistake at AirBnB they turned off the Instant Book Function on my account for over a month. In my market, this makes a huge difference in bookings. During the same time period last year I had 13 bookings and this year I had 2. It was their error and no one could fix it. I still have not gotten an official explanation of why it happened. Meanwhile I was such a good host , I made Super Hosts Status this quarter. Due to the drastic drop in bookings, I will not be able to met my monthly expenses, and am worried.
I was told compensation would be made when I reported the issue. For my hassle they gave me a $50 travel credit. A $50 travel credit for a month of lost bookings is NOT comparable and is actually insulting. I thought they would at least offer actual money or at least $400 in travel credits, something that would allow me to take an actual trip. This is not how you make hosts feel valued. It is so disappointing to have faith in an organization and be let down.
