Mystery reservation

Hi - I have a guest who is saying they have a confirmation for a stay however I never received a booking, only an inquiry.  The guest has a confirmation code however I see nothing on my end other than a pending inquiry.   Has anyone come across this or does anyone have the AirBnB email so I can contact them?

I recently had that exact situation arise.  To cut a very long story short I had guests arrive at my property unconfirmed thrusting documentation into my face claiming to have paid.  They wanted accommodation and for me to negotiate a payment reconciliation between airbnb and paypal.   They had never been advised of my address but had used the info advertised on the website to identify my property eg road name and photographs posted.  If this ever happens to me again I will lock my gate and politely message the guests no admittance without a confirmation.   Unfortunately, I made a rooky mistake and thought I recognised a confirmation, in fact there was none.  I let them into my home.  When I found the mistake I called the Airbnb phone number and was advised by an airbnb representative they are scammers and to remove them from my property.  I feel highly traumatized by this experience please avoid admitting unconfirmed guests at all costs.  Regards Janice.
