Nashville - Monthly Rental Permit

We are considering hosting our condo in Nashville on airbnb.

To comply with HOA rules, we would need to make our rental have a 30 day minimum.

If we are never renting for less than 30 days, would we still need to get a short term rental permit just for hosting on airbnb?

Short term rental permit or license is not an Air BNB requirement, @Sara475.  It is usually the city or county requirement, so check there.  In my city, I would not need a STR license if I had a minimum of 30 days.

Hi Sara. I’m resurrecting this thread.  Did you ever end up following through? I’m trying to do the same exact thing.  I’ve called the city codes department but they are taking forever to get back to me.  The definition of short term rental appear later highly vague and doesn’t list a number of days as part of the definition.  It simply states anyone listing on short term rental sites to transient occupants.  I’m assuming 30 days or more is not short term, but you can never really trust the government to follow the spirit of the Law.

I will report back if I find out anything.
