@Alison28 Are you referring to your personal income tax or Occupancy Tax (also referred to as Hotel tax, sales tax, etc.)  If the former, that depends on your overall tax situation.  If the latter, you need to consult with your local tax authority.  Also you might post your question in the New York community (go to the menu and scroll down to Cities) where fellow New Yorker might have an answer.
