New to hosting

Listed my unit; received a prospective renter who said that she will let me know her decision in a few days. In the meantime, I received another request for the same dates. Am I obligated to hold the unit for the first request or can I accept the second request?

Ironically, the first person has a great rating, whereas the second one is new to Air BNB and I am his first. Do I have an obligation to wait or......

It's up to you, @Loretta24. I think it would be fair to accept the second guest because who knows what the first one will do? Might not book at all...

Thanks, I kind of thought that she may not book; I was just a little skeptical of a newbie in the community. I will trust my instinct!

@Loretta24 Welcome to hosting!

That decision is yours: there is no obligation to hold the dates for the first person who enquired. You could shoot them a quick message and let them know that someone else is asking about the dates, if you wanted to, but you certainly don't have to. You can just accept the new requestor, if you're comfortable with the request, with a clear concience.

Thanks Alexandra.

What payout method do you use?

I use the bank transfer option, and it works pretty fast: I usually have my money within 24 hours of notification that it's been sent. It gets sent 24 hours after check in. Please note that the first time you get paid, it can take up to 30 days to get your money.

Excellent! Thanks!
