Notes On Listing

I recently chose to post a note on my calendar for guests that includes anything that may disrupt their stay. For example, for tomorrow - the note said there will be a garage cleaning and no vehicles allowed. I assumed (stupid of me I suppose), that this note would be made visable to anyone who was booking on that date. Now, this is not in the private note section, its the top right area that says "Add a note" and when I look at the date, it does in fact have this wording. However, when I go to look at the listing as a traveller - it does not show up anywhere.

Did I miss a step? Or is there no way to pre-emptively warn of an interruptions prior to booking?

Thanks in advance

I believe the calendar note is for the host to keep track of issues and not for guests.  @Elle72  it would be a good idea to respond to any inquiry for dates in which there is disruption with a message about it to the guest on the Air BNB message system.  If the guest has booked on Instant Book then you can give the guest an opportunity to cancel without penalty if within 48 hours.

@Elle72

A note on the calender is for your own purpose.

It is not shown to guests.

I had hoped that the add note was public and then the private add note, was in fact the private one. Good to know theyre both private notes and don't provide the info I was hoping for lol

Thanks for the quick replies

@Elle72 it would be useful to be able to post notes for guests though, wouldn't it?

It would be useful. That way, the guest is aware of any interruptions that might make them change their mind before booking and wasting everyones time. One of the notes I have is for a festival that happens half a block away. That weekend, its chaos in the community. With the note, they'd be warned before pushing the book button.

Oh well - Maybe we will get lucky and someone will see this thread and put it on there as a new item. (wishful thinking)
