Dear airbnb,

I am trying to rent an apartment in Champoluc in Italy. The host seems very nice, and he gave us a discount. Usually when I am renting throught Airbnb, I am paying throught airbnb's website. The host asked me to pay directly to this bank account ans sendt be this massage:

"The reservation number will be activated when your booking deposit will be completed. You have to send the booking deposit to the Financial Department of Airbnb to: 

Beneficiary Account: [personal information hidden]

IBAN: [personal information hidden]

BIC: [personal information hidden]

Country: Denmark"

Will this be a safe airbnb payment?

Please advice!

Absolutely not, do not do it. Flag the user as well.

Do not pay them outside of Airbnb.  It's not allowed to protect both you and the Host.

This is a host forum, so you should contact Airbnb support and let them about this situation.

There are three ways to contact the Airbnb support team:

1. website (Visit https://www.airbnb.ca/help/contact_us and send them a message. They usually respond within 5 minutes.)

2. twitter (Log into Twitter and search for @Airbnbhelp and choose "Follow" them and send a Direct Message (DM) explaining your issue and wait for their response.

3. telephone (Here is the Airbnb support number for Norway +47 21 61 16 88)

The host should never solicit payments outside the Airbnb platform, as it is against the Airbnb terms of agreement and puts both the host and the guest at unnecessary risk.

If the host wants to give you a discount off his usual rate, he can easily do this throught the Airbnb platform. He only needs to make you a "special offer" for the price you agreed to. The Airbnb platform will take care of calculations for the booking, including taxes and fees, and process the payments safely.

@Walløe0 As @Jim-and-Marcia0 have said this is a host forum it is not Airbnb...it is a collection of people who, as hosts or guests, use Airbnb. For that reason don't post any personal details on this site. They are not needed to give information.

That said, definitely do not accept a booking through the Airbnb platform outside of Airbnb's payment system.

So many things can go wrong and you will have absolutely no protection from Airbnb if you have 'made a deal' outside their terms.

What this person is doing is trying to book your listing without having to pay the Airbnb fees....he wants something on the cheap! He would know very well that what he is suggesting is not ok, so decline his request and call Airbnb and tell them why you have declined this guest.

The moderators of this forum will remove your 'guests' details when they become aware of it but for the future @Walløe0 try to keep your questions general without actually divulging who they are.

Good to see you posting here. Just to add to what @Sandra126 and @Max21 mentioned in regards to flagging the user's account, this can be done by clicking the little flag icon, either by a message in your Airbnb message thread or on their listing account, this is what it looks like:
