Pet Fees - What is appropriate?

Thank you for any help!  Very new to Airbnb (2 hostings so far) .  What is the appropriate fee to chage for pets?  Both of my guests so far have brought pets...I didn't know I could charge!

What is an appropriate amount? Should it be per pet?

@Kim968  Hi, I'm just curious, are you going to request money from the guest after booking, through the resolution center or add the charge prior to booking? 

I was charged £10 per night for my dog, not through Airbnb, which I found extortionate as he didn't make a mess, stayed on his own bed and only used one bowl of water for the night.

Thank you for the info.  I honestly am not sure yet.  I read that I could modify a reservation after it is booked.  I am still working on the "how".

Of my so far only 2 hostings both have brought dogs and they both messed in the house!  One hiked its leg on the kitchen island!

@Kim968  Sorry to hear that. Those poor dogs mustn't have responsible carers.

I don't charge for pets, its built into my nightly rate as about 80% of guests bring a dog
