Posting your room on other sites

Hello my name is Danielle and I am new Airbnb. I was just wondering if anyone post the space in any other sites like booking.com. If so what program or app do you use to sync you calendar so there are no double booking. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciate. Thank you in advance.

@Teresita-Java0my advice u should keep trying VRBO /Homeaway they bring quality guests as u can set a deposit but real one, and also they have requested to book it called something else but I cannot remember now. I set deposit in all my listings and ZERO ISSUE, don't think they do any others payment than Bank transfer but that is fine with me. But 1st of all have a channel manager to sync calendar it take out all nightmare double booking out of the equation.

@Marie82 Homeaway had payout to Paypal before, but after some changes I have to setup the listing again and then there was no option for Paypal. They say it will be back later, so I just wait a bit.

Since we also get booking request from Facebook and our website, I have to block manually anyway and we are also flexible with check-in/out, so I have to keep an eye on the calender.

But good to hear, you think Homeaway brings quality guests. We only had few guests from there so far.

I have. Erm anhost for 5 years and had a lovely time and met wonderful people. However I am now advising hosts to re-think doing Airbnb especially if like me, it is in your home. Airbnb have just literally in the last month changed their rules (nothing to do with my countries laws where my ad is, just it seems cause they fancied it). I have the WORST booking ever because now you can not see a guests photo until the booking is confirmed which means you can’t cancel the booking as the host then guests fined so you’re stuck with a random stranger who is potentially unhinged, dangerous or just really weird stuck in the booking in your property. Airbnb side with the guest as now hosts are cash cows for Airbnb and that’s it. After multiple complaints and even using the resolution centre in Ireland I got stuck with the guest as it refused to leave after I multiple times said it had to go and refused to leave my home which has been horrific as I’d was in no way the wrong the guest lied and was disceatful and I didn’t want a random stranger left in my home when I was at work- nothing out of order or unfair there.

id strongly suggest all hosts really think about doing this as it is incredibly dangerous and hownslty not worth the high risk and hassle just for a bit of extra cash. I’ll be declining a mass amount of bookings and asking questions which some may say are discrimininative however innow as a host have no way to vet and protect myself. No guest photo is a MASSIVE thing to protect us hosts as we do all the donkey work and Airbnb get paid and do nothing to earn it.

Be as ruthless and too be honest I’d even leave Airbnb and use another platform or source of lodger website and keep your homes and safety safe. Airbnb do not care for our safety at all!
