Pre-approval

Pre-approval

Hi there,

I removed a pre-approval and the guest still managed to book. What should I do?

Hi Sophie,

So I'm assuming you had a guest with no verifications ask to book, you pre-approved, then withdrew the pre-approval, but since you had instant booking on, the guest got verified and booked anyway?

My best bet would be to try communicate with the guest expectations and standards you require them to abide by throughout your stay. Get them to tell them a little bit abotu themselves and inform them of the house rules. If the reservation is really a concern to you, then maybe ask them if they would like to cancel. Cancelling a confirmed booking really hurts you in the long run so isn't really advisable. Best option is to try work with guest and inform them of what's required.

Good luck!

Hi Sophie, a pre-approval tells the guest your listing is available and that they can then book without having to go through a reservation request....it is much like an Instant Booking. Removing the pre-approval does not stop the guest from booking. On one of your listings you utilise Instant Book and it was probably on that listing that this occured.

If you feel this guest would not be a good fit for your hosting you can still cancel penalty free! You are allowed an unlimited number of IB cancellations if the guest breaks house rules or you feel uncomfortable hosting the guest.

I hope this helps Sophie.

Cheers.....Rob
