What does it mean when a guest reviews you and then you get this:
Accuracy feedback:
“Your guest mentioned some issues that weren’t accurately reflected in your listing description: listing description. Additional comments: “From the description I assumed 5 min walking to the ski hill.”.”
Location feedback:
““You will need to drive (3 mins) to the downtown or 5 mins to the hill.””
This guest must be on glue, since my listing clearly states, as the first sentence in the second paragraph: "The ski hill is only a short 5 minute drive away! "
Does this count against me somehow? I'm really not impressed. This is the same guest, btw, who couldn't read the VERY CLEAR instructions on self check in and couldn't find the lockbox so called me up to ask where it was (no one else has had an issue) and then left my lockbox code visible when they checked out, despite being told in the instructions to spin the dial to maintain building security after they have used the box.
I'm sure they knocked off a star because THEY couldn't read and follow instructions! Gah!
yes, this is a common problem. more times than not the guest who mentions a problem with accuracy is actually just confirming that they have failed to read or have the reading comprehension of a primary student.
If that note was in their public review then you may respond with a note (to future guests!) that points out that the misunderstanding is actually addressed in your listing, if it was in their private notes then just ignore it.
this will happen again, guests are notorious bad readers
@Michelle-and-Ray0: on glue, stoned, doped, stewed, whatever. I simply refer to them as dumb. You will always meet them, and there will be more and more of them because people stop using their brains nowadays...
Grow a thick skin, that's it.
@Michelle-and-Ray0: You ask what does it mean when you get feedback like that?
It means the guest did not read and understand your information. This is indeed on the guest.
But as a host, it points out that you would benefit from taking steps that to reduce the number of times this will happen going forward.
In your specific case, that would mean repeating the information even more times, and emphasizing even more that guests need to drive to the ski hill.
Are you telling people already? Yes, you are.
Is it your fault that guests aren't reading / understanding your current information about it? No, it is not.
Would you benefit from even more clarity and repetition? Yes. Yes you will.
