I've been a host for a few years, and actually have got friends to host as well. In August we had a guest stay with us. They turned out to be strung out drug addicts, super abusive towards each other and did over $7000 in damages and stolen property. Airbnb offered us $487. We supplied detail photos, text messages, emails, reciepts, police reports, and host statments. The person handling our case Carmen SD, claimed she recieved none of the documents event though all other Airbnb people can see every photo graph sent. I'm wondering if there is a number or person someone knows before my lawyer takes over fully, as he states i need to exhaust ANY and ALL options before filing a lawsuit. This is one avenue I've not gone down yet, so Im here to ask.
That's sounds terrible! Have you asked to speak with carmens manager at all? That's the next step I am taking...

It's a Million Dollar Guarantee. Not to be confused with insurance. If you've been operating under the assumption that AirBnB is covering your business with a miion dollar insurance policy, you'd best have your insurance agent step in to set you straight before you need to make a claim.
@Fran-Laura0 Aside from not being insurance it's important to know that it's based on depreciation value not replacement cost in today's market, if you qualify, there are many hurdles to leap over and hoops to jump through. Host Guarantee it's worth studying the fine print and there is a post about it with comments about people's experiences.

@Zander-And-Marie0 Call Airbnb or use Twitter, insist on speaking to a supervisor - someone needs to give you an explanation and a breakdown of why such a paltry amount and how did they decide on that sum. But also check out the actual terms of the "Host Guarantee" there are many exclusions and the fine print belies the marketing blurb of "Peace of mind. Guaranteed." Here's a link to a post about it

do what i did,,,,,,,,,,,,but first, airbnb does not give a rats ASS about you or anybody else...they will say case manager,,then after you call 20 times, they will say its our legal depatment is now in charge.....sound familiar?? All they do is tell stories that they are working on it, and you might get one call and thats that........SCREW THAT !!! I am in a line of work that solves problems that normal people just do not know about, unfortunately I have the knack and growing up watching too much T.V. has given me a certain knowledge of how this COMPANY and othes operate..........I know, get to the chase..........Its contacting the big guy in charge..THE CEO!! HIS PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS IS ON CERTAIN SITES........DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE STUPID OPERATORS.......BOMBARD HIM WITH EMAILS, BUT IT ONLY TOOK ME ONE.........i WAS POLITE AND GOT TO THE POINT,,,HAD DOCUMENTS AND SO FORTH..........JUST MAKE WHATEVER CASE YOU HAVE SHORT, CONCISE AND SUGGEST THE SOLUTION THAT YOU WANT...............HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!
I've sent Brian Chesky two emails...no response! Then AIrbnb have the audacity to send a group email to everybody supposedly from Brian claiming he cares about the Airbnb community! yeah right
