Problem with guests that just stayed at my condo

Hello,

Can anyone give me suggestions here..

My guests checked out on Sunday morning at 11am.

I checked into my condo around 5pm to see how things were and there are some issues..

1. Controller for my apple tv is missing.

2. Stove was on.

3. Baseboard heater in one of bedrooms turned on high so it was like a sauna in there.

4. Sand from beach stuck to one of my coffee tables in small pile.. under which looked like pop.

5. Sheets were not stripped from bed like I request.

Some minor things I agree but still very upset mostly about the controller missing. The guests have replied saying that they did not see or use it but I used it the day before they checked in and it was there.

They said there were no kids, just five responsible adults.. which makes me wonder why there was a pile of sand on the table.

They say they have used Airbnb many times over the years but have never had issues like this. When I check the person who it is under he only has one review in jan 2015.

Question.. if they do not want to pay for controller etc do I take off deposit?

Help pleasse.

Thank you. Donald

I thought my remote control was missing once, then I checked the sofa cushions. Take it apart, it is a likely spot!

I find heaters left on regularly. This is a great reason to check as soon as guests leave.

Your deposit was not held. You can only get money from your deposit from ABNB.

There is pretty much nothing you can do about the sand, stove and heaters. Perhaps you can send future guests a text the morning they are to leave and remind them to do those things and have a check out sheet as an additional reminder. And like the other person commented, go as soon as possible to your place to see if such things are left on.

Look for your controller like the person suggested it may be there after all. I doubt if you will get any money toward that, but you could try.

Not stripping the sheets, nothing you can do about that, but in your text to your guests the day the leave remind them about that.

You can reflect your dismay with the guest in your reveiw.
