RESERVATION REQUEST IN DOLLARS ON A MUCH HIGHER CONVERSION RATE : EURO X DOLLAR

RESERVATION REQUEST IN DOLLARS ON A MUCH HIGHER CONVERSION RATE : EURO X DOLLAR

Hi,

I've just a had a reservation inquiry for the new year's on our property and the guest is interested in reserving and is a profile that we would accept.

But there is the question, they ask me to make a special offer of 900 dollars from the 26/12/2015-01/01/2016 , when in fact the total for the reservation with my actual rate in euros is of 815 euros. Using the daily conversion of today 815 euros = 875 dollars and she told me that for her it appears as 1125 dollars.

Could you please explain why? 30% more , seems a lot.

Thanks for your quick response and we might loose the reservation if this is not solved.

Regards,

Mateus and Chloe

Can you see the airbnb fees on your end when it shows as €815? If you just added up your nightly rate and came to €815 then it will appear higher to them when they try and book as there will be at least 10% extra in fees that they will pay. Plus any extra person or cleaning fees you have

i just googled their policy and they charge a 3% conversion fee. So if €815 is around $870 plus about $26 for their conversion fee, the guest should see around $900.

So so based on that I imagine the guest is wanting to pay the advertised nightly rate and not any of the fees. So if you want to let them pay $900 you will probably have to lower your price

When it comes to NYE bookings there is no point making a lower price.  If you are competive already for the special event you will get another booking for the price you want.

How did you resolve this?  I have a guest arriving on June 1st paying in Euros.  The request arrived as almost $13K (Euros to dollar).  Approx 10,585 Euros = 13,000 Dollars.  So I should be paid the the converted rate of $13K dollars but yet the final reservation booked at $10,585 dollars?  What am I doing wrong?
