Referring Hosts

Hello Fello Airbnb Hosts,

I rec'd a booking request from an unverified person. He didn't indicate that he really wanted to book, but he had questions on my success rate as a host because he as a rental space of his own which he may interested in turning it into an Airbnb space.

The only option I had to respond to him was the pre-approve/accept or declilne option. I accepted his request and messaged him with the answers to his questions.

IAfterwards, I thought I'd try to refer him as a host, which I've never done before, but a $100 host referral would be nice. However, his email address does not come up on his booking rquest?

I'm going to contact Airbnb tech support to ask about this, by the way are the most helpful people, but  if anyone has suggestions and/or thoughts on this, I'm happy to hear whar you have to say.

Thank you,

Christine

You could have just responded to his questions without choosing to accept.  Now you have a reservation.  One of you is going to have to cancel or else he will be charged for the time he requested.  This will result in one of you being penalized.  He could have just sent you an inquiry, not a reservation booking.  For future reference, if someone isn't really looking to book for the time they are requesting, decline.  You can keep talking to them through the Airbnb system.

You can only send Host referrals to people whom you know their email addresses.  Direct email contact is not provided with Airbnb to keep some anonymity between host and guest.

How

Do I refer a host and get credit for it

I referred two friends and they are doing it successfully.'BUT - the air bnb folks won't pay my the promised $100 per host!

I have spent hours on the phone and they have given me the total runaround!

I won't refer anyone else - as I spent a lot of time helping them get started.
