Refund

I had a guest cancel. We have a 50% strict policy. When will we get paid?  They already received their 50% refund.  Thanks!

Does Airbnb ever go around the cancellation policy? I have a woman who booked and then cancelled because she won't be getting her passport on time. Then she said her child's passport won't be on time either. I got the sense that the second problem was really a plea for clemency--she was asking for a full refund even though I have a strict refund setting and can still earn half. 

 

I told her I would refund her if I rebooked. They are due to arrive in about 2 1/2 weeks and it is a middle of the week booking. She has gone to the resolution center and asked for a complete refund, which I denied. I just restated my position, saying that if I could rebook, I would refund her. 

 

Does Air ever go around this? I don't think her reasons are very good. I mean, if she booked travel, she must have understood she needed a passport. 

its the hazards of travel.  If you set a certain policy - clearly laid out, then the traveller can't winge and moan about not getting all her money back.   If it had been something truly catastrophic, perhaps you could ask AirBnB to overule the preset rule.  You offered a good compromise by offering to rebook.
