Service fee for amenities

Is it proper to charge service fee to guests once they arrive at their home away from home?  This service fee is separate and apart  from the service fee charged by Airbnb. I charge an extra 8.75% as my daily rate is already low.

@Andrea1657, I don't understand. Why not just add the 8.75% to your daily rate so guests feel like they're not having to pay extra charges?

@Andrea1657  Absolutely not. You are basically reeling people in with a low advertised rate and then charge extra on top. It is also a violation of Airbnb's T&C's that you agreed to.

Charging for amenities is strongly discouraged by airbnb.  If a guest happens to report you for doing so, you risk being kicked off the platform as it is against airbnb t&c.

You need to balance the pros and cons of renting at all in off season if competition is high and rates are pushed to the bottom.  Many do not find it worthwhile, may not even break even.
