I'm looking to start hosting my near-downtown spare room in Indianapolis this upcoming December. Is there a slow period (winter) in Indianapolis that I should be aware of?
I research this as follows: check out the boutique (ie: non-corporate) hotels in your area on hotels.com. Change dates to move forward week-by-week and watch hotel prices. They will change when "season" or "slow" times present themselves. Don't necessarily price by what they charge...but it gives you an idea when they go up and down.
@Tommy43 - if your concern is pricing, turn on Smart Pricing. Airbnb will adjust the price based on a number of factors to try and maximize your income and bookings. You will want to watch for local festivals or Pacer/Colts games, because Airbnb might not catch that with historical information.
