We have sold one of our properties so will be taking down the listing, but want our reviews to remain intact; we earned those reviews over the last four years that show our consistent dedication and integrity, even if we will no longer own the property going forward. We have read that we will lose them if we close the account. Do they remain if we simply deactivate it but don’t delete it?
Reviews remain if you deactivate the listing, but if you will no longer be the host, your listing cannot be transferred to the new owner's name, and since you're no longer the host, the reviews you earned shouldn't be handed over to a new host, should they? A little unethical.
The new owner could be a disaster. They didn't earn those ratings. There's no obligation for them to continue that level of hospitality, and surfing on your past successes.
Or am I missing something?
No, you are absolutely right. We are not transferring anything over to the new hosts. We shared our photos with them, as they are listing the property fully furnished, in the exact same manner that we had it set up, but we have already contacted all future bookings, having them cancel with us, and then book on the new host listing. We simply want to hold onto the reviews that we have earned over the last four years with that property, not share them with future hosts, or glean off of their future bookings.
@Mike-And-Amy2 No need to worry; those reviews will all stay on your public profile even if you unlist.
