Split payments for guests holds the hosts calendar hostage

Airbnb now allows split payments from guests. This holds your booking calendar hostage if you book on other platforms or run your own website. Guests now have up to 4 days to pay…during this time your calendar is blocked out for others to book…and there is no guarantee the payment will go through.  

 

The worst part about this is that the host does not have an option to decline this kind of booking. I would be fine with it if during the booking process Airbnb would tell me “This is a split payment and we are waiting on all members of the group to provide payment. Would you like to accept or decline at this time?” But no…they just spring it on you after you accepted the reservation…and you will be penalized if you cancel the reservation after you accepted it while you are waiting for payment to go through. It is not fair to the host.

Airbnb, stop holding our calendars hostage!!!!

@Wendy-and-Craig0 yes, we are all aware of it . There were several other posts with the same topic during last month and  even today by Robin. We all agree that 4 days is too much, especially if it is a last minute booking starting in a week or few.
