Strange guest from Paris

Recently I had a guest from France.
The young man is about 20 years old.
I told and showed the neighborhood of the district.
Supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, bars, etc.
Helped him to buy a local SIM card, charge for iPhone and other services.
My friend learned by chance that I have a guest from France of Paris. My friend asked me. Can a Frenchman pass our local delicacy to Paris for a friend's relatives. It was sausage of horse. Kazakhs call this sausage KAZY. It was in vacuum packing with documents of buy.
On what, my guest replied (I quote):
-Oh sure. And I myself want to buy it for my parents.
I gave the sausage of my friend before the flight. We stopped at a butcher's shop and bought sausage for the guest's parents.
I exchanged contacts with him. I wished him a happy journey and he flew away.
After my guest landed to Paris. He informed me that he would soon hand over the sausage. However, in a few days and promises. He blocked all and did not answer any letters or calls.

@Kanysh0You were certainly a good host to your guest from Paris.

Who knows why he didn't deliver the sausage. 

The only thing you could have done before you asked him to take it is to check on-line whether he can take meat products into the EU from a country from outside the EU.  This is forbidden unless he had documents which cover all relevant aspects of hygiene, animal health and public health of the country the meat came from.  The favour you asked could have caused problems.

I'm sure it's delicious and it was a pity your friend's friend didn't get their treat.

Most likely, it was so.

The meaning of the message is the reply it illicites.
I doubt much whether our young Frenchman ever reallly intended to elude to act as a messenger but was too polite to say so. Correct me if I am wrong
