Strict Cancellation Policy and Full refund???

My guest booked instantly and said he would check in after 2 hours on the same day and then he cancels on me and I get an email from AirBnb saying that a full refud was issued to him. Airbnb never contacted me and my cancellation policy was strict. Can this happen? Shouldn't I be getting some fee? Please help me.

I'm pretty sure there's a fee-free window in which you can cancel. What do you think you are due...presumably the room was ready anyway, @Sam826?

Hi,

 

there is is a free 48 h delay for cancellation whatever your policy. Means that Booking/cancel on the same day (even the day of arrival) means full refund (except for Airbnb fees)

Whats better (and it happened to me twice): when the guest cancels on the day of arrival (or even after, if he finally did not show up) , he can still write a review. 

 

(Mine never did. If they had written a review, i would have called Airbnb to have these removed because thé guests never even travelled to my town).
