I was a bit disturbed to find HostelWorlds new non-refundable discounted rate doesn not help a lot re no-shows.
I have a 2 week booking (deposit paid to HW) and a message from them saying I can bill the rest to his card today. They gave me the card number, name and expiry, but I can find no sensible means of being able to process this. I have an email which is non-responsivee. I can see no alternative but to leave the due amount until he arrives, or doesn't as the case may be.
This means having given a discount for payment up front I am now left with a no show or someone who should have paid full rate.
Any suggestions for procesing the card with so little information?

You need to contact HostalWorld as they had the full card details in order to collect the deposit, as far as I'm aware you can't process a customer not present transaction without cvv and guests address.
Still awaiting their reply. It has taken me 3 months to get the first hostel set up. Not at all impresed.
I don't think they have thought this through. Imagine 10 bookings a day for say 2 nights. Many will take the discounted option, Impossible to make contact each time for proper detals. It would take so much time it woulnt be worth it.
