The “almost” nightmare guests

The “almost” nightmare guests

So, I accepted a booking from guests with a 4 star rating. From now on, I will take anything less than 5 stars as a red flag

they had 4 reviews, all glowing praise, but people are obviously giving them suboptimal scores. After hosting for one night, I’ll be giving them suboptimal scores too.

But i feel really bad about writing something negative, shall I just write

“nice people, better suited to motel accommodation”

the reality behind this included muddy shoe prints in the bathroom, shower stall(???!!!!!) and white plush carpet, despite our “no shoes upstairs” rule.

Blood spatter on the pillow and the the bedside drawer. Wtf

also yanked the powerpoint out of the wall. I confronted her about this and she was sorry

Grrrr. What should I do? One stars? Or 4 stars for being at least nice people?

Thanks so much for your help guys!

@Robin4 so are you saying my review is too harsh?

i can still edit it, as she hasn’t reviewed me yet!

@Crystal144

I am just saying I would delete the bit about only accepting 5 star guests.....it is showing your anger. You need to be seen as that serene host whos diplomacy skills are beyond reproach. Don't get me wrong, your review Crystal is great but I don't know that it is wise to cut yourself off from a sunstantial part of your revenue base, purely because you are angry.

Have a cup of coffee and think it over, and that bit about only 5 stars need apply! That may put a lot of nice guests off.

Now maybe I am not reading this right and your comment on the end there about not accepting future guests with less than a 5 is not actually in your review....if that is the case I am sorry Crystal....as you did not include any punctuation I just assume that what you said was all part of the review. I stand by my comments though mate, many a good guest has come to me with a less than stellar background!

Cheers.....Rob

Oh i see gotcha! I’ll take that bit out then. It was in the review

Thanks for your words of wisdom 🙂

@Crystal144@Robin4  Right on Robin - how true - every picture tells a different story and we all use our own many filters to quickly assess the story - OFTEN times we are way off - good she came to your place and maybe you taught her some important tips about being a guests and about impressions while navigating this life and world.

Our Robin - the diplomat, diplomat wordsman and gentle soul!

Blessings and hey I'm thankful for Airbnb/ CC and those that contribute on here - this is way better than Facebook to me!

Cheers all, Clara

@Clara116 Totally agree @Robin4 is so wise and helpful on here!!

I think we have just about thrashed this out but, I will just make one point. In my first year of Airbnb hosting I hosted 17 stays, that was in 2016. In the last 12 months I have hosted 127.

I have only got to this position by the wonderful help I got here on the CC. People guided me and it payed off. Crystal, Clara and others, I just want to pay it forward and if my experience over this past couple of years can help someone else.....That makes me feel great.

Best to you!

Cheers.....Rob
