Unable to Remove Pre-Approval

Hi,

 

So we pre-approved someone a while back and have heard nothing since, so we wanted to remove their pre-approval. However when we go to the message thread, where the option to remove a pre-approval used to be, there is no option to remove it.

 

We've tried on the app and different browsers but can't find any way of removing the pre-approval. Has the option moved, or being removed, or what?

 

Any help appreciated.

removing a pre-approval. Guest has not confirmed, I pre-appoved more than 24 hours ago and got another enquiry which I need to follow. Cannot find the remove pre-approval button as instructed in your help line.

You can pre-approve the new inquiry without removing the previous pre-approval.

It woudl appear that although the pre-approval expires after 24hours, that the guest can still come back a month later and make the booking. I'm in a sistuation where I have had to review my prices after receiving my unitilty bils and a couple of guest who I preapproved  3 weeks ago will still be able to book the room at the old rates due to the active 'pre-approval'. The only way I can see around this really to to manually cancel their book if they do eventually decide to book and confirm reason by a message. I have read through airbnb's policy and it states -

 

There are a couple of things to know about pre-approvals:

  • Your listing’s calendar is still marked as available when you pre-approve a guest.
  • You can offer multiple guests a pre-approval for the same dates. Once the space is filled, other guests will be automatically notified.
  • Guests have 24 hours to accept your pre-approval before it expires.
  • Once a pre-approval expires, the guest will need to send another inquiry or request in order to book. The new inquiry or request will still reflect the price from the original pre-approval. You have to retract your original pre-approval for new prices to be reflected.
  • Pre-approvals do not override your reservation requirements

I feel this it is unfair that the option to retract pre-approval has been withdrawn without an alternative replacement. In order to maintain your response rate, you are forced to either pre-approve or decline an enquiry within 24 hours. There are some obvious enquiries which you can decline straight away but on the whole, most enquiries are reasonable as such the only option is to pre-approve. 

 

To be totally honest, I'm not even sure why you have to go through all this on an instant booking. I have guests who book instantantly without any problems and others who have questions which is fine but after I have answered their questions and confirmed I can or cannot accommodate them, they should be able to just book instantly if they decide to proceed. I should mention, I have two seperate listings, one on instant booking and the other requires approval. I get lots of enquiries on the instant booking which is the reason for my concern now.

 

If anyone does have any ideas, please do post them.

I agree, there is a serious glitch here affecting hosts in defferent ways.

Here's my experience.

I pre-approved a (potential) guest three weeks ago and they negleced to accept within 24 hours.

So, I presume there is no standing pre-approval at this stage.

Except, randomly checking my listing on my iphone this morning I see that the dates involved in said pre-approval are showing as unavailable...

WTF airbnb?

We are in peak season here in the Canadian Rockies!

 

Now, on the website, yes, all seems in order, but how do we fix the mobile issue?

Please help!

My pre-approved guest which himself desisted from the booking....both of us could not find a way to cancel the pre-approved fxxxxxg agreement. What the hell is the problem?
