It's been over a week and I have not been able to message anyone who e-mails me. When I click on "repond now", I get a blank page which looks like my inbox when that isn't working (which is common). Thank goodness Airbnb has tech support - HA!
To the post about responding within 24 hours, what's worse is not being able to discuss the reservation with a prospective renter for more than 24 hours. Then the computer tallies you as not accepting the reservation - a strike against you. This is insane. People are spending money and time and Airbnb demands that they decide within 24 hours where they should spend their vacation dollars. I'm sure they think it's a nudge but it is rude and unfair to those wanting to help those that inquire.
