We used to be popular!

Hi there

We used to have many many enquiries when we Airbnb'd last year and were very busy with bookings. I think we may of earned super host status. We took the room off for approx 1 year due to a long term let an are noew back on Airbnb. We have had zero interest in 2 months of being online.

There must be something wrong?

We have a great room in a great popular part of London for a great rate...

Many thanks

If you don't have Instant Booking turned on, that could be part of the reduction in inquiries. I've had the same experience though. Not sure what the problem is! 😞

Hello @Al38 ,

Youre listing looks OK to me, it can be found and it can be booked. But there is much more competition now and after a perod of inactivity you can be at the bottom of search results. Did you check the amount of views ? Being popular is not "static", you have to earn it again by recent bookings, reviews, high ratings etc..

Offcourse you can promote your listing also outside Airbnb via Social Media , by Listing or Home Page (maybe change ".com" to ".co.uk" ?). Tip: upload a cover photo on the homepage.

Hope this helps, Emiel

Thanks guys - will look into this

Wishing you the best

Interesting post. If get the chance Al, please let us know if you notice a lot more listings (as @Emiel1 mentioned) vs. a year ago. Nothing else has changed at your end right?

@Al38 I've seen posts from hosts who disappeared for some time and then got back complaining about a low number of bookings or even none at all, like you. It's quite possible that Airbnb treats them worse in their search algorithm.

Did you Google what the most popular places are in London for Airbnb? I found this by accident and was surprised at what is most popular in the United States.

Also the market has changed in the year you weren't online. You should check out your competitors & see what's what.
