Why do Host Referral Fees vary so massively (UK)?

I'm a UK host. On my Airbnb Inbox page, it says:

"Earn £94 for each new host you refer."

I've just discovered that other UK hosts are being offered up to £314 for each new host they refer.

This is a big difference! More than 3 times as much???

What determines the amount Airbnb offers for host referrals?

Just had a look at mine, it says £376 for each new host I refer. No idea what factors go into that difference- would be interesting to know for sure.

@Harriet33 I'm on £94 at the moment but its been as high as £380, no idea why.
