airbnb email

I have received an email from airbnb, saying I didnt respond to a request and saying " Allowing requests to expire negatively affects your response rate and your listing’s placement in search." I don't quite understand it as I DID respond to Christine's email by declining and this has shown up in my calendar. I'm confused..anybody else had this?

 thanks

Maybe the system recognizes a decline as no response, @Geoff9? From what I know, declining also goes towards lower rating.

There is a difference between an inquiry and an actual request to book.  You must respond to both, but an inquiry can be responded to by simple email.  A request has to be "accepted or declined"  Pay attention to the message.  If it is an actual request to book and all you do is simply message them your declination, with out hitting the "decline" button, you will be penalized.  Basically, though, ABB penalizes too many declines anyway as well.
