booking prices

Hi,

I am a new host.  I have one question pl.  I had a guest and the price was fixed, but then the day after I received a note from airbnb stating that she would like to book for a lower price.  Can anyone pl let me know how this is possible? I thought that once that the price is fixed than it is final. Why prices keep on going down?  This I noticed on another occasion where the price was lowered. Don't know why it was lowered and who can lower the price.  I look forward to received some feedback on this pl.

the message from Airbnb is a suggestion to lower the price, you can decline lowering the price due to your cost. Good luck

Hi Joanne:
In reference to prices being lowered by the system. You must have set your parameters for smart pricing. The system automatically evaluates other hosts around you, their occupation level and another parameter that we as hosts set up, how frequent we want to book. And it sets the price accordingly, you can eliminate it by un clicking smart pricing.
