Hi,
I've been hosting with AirBnB for 4 yrs. I'm just wondering if any other hosts out there that have been with AirBnB for a while are feeling that the changes over time are not very host-friendly? The 2 things that I'm feeling frustrated about are my listing and my response rating.
A few time over the last year I've had people tell me they couldn't find my listing. Then when I've looked for it myself I couldn't find it. Other times I've had no problem. I'm wondering if they have so many listing now that it's affecting how often or when my listing comes up?
The other really frustrating thing is that if I don't decline or pre-approve a request - if I just write back to the person - it affects my rating negatively. The other day I had someone ask to stay with me and she thought I was close to a city that's 6 hrs. away. I told her so and now I keep getting reminders from the site saying that I haven't responded to her. I would have pre-approved her, but she has a dog and I didn't want to go into all the questions about that if she wasn't interested in staying here. Maybe I don't need to be so concerned about the rating?
I have to say that with the way things are going here I'm tempted to switch to another site. The reason I haven't so far is that I like that they handle the $ part of things and I also like the insurance policy here.
Thanks for "listening".
