I have changed my email address and have received a notification by text but not email. I have answered Yes to all the Preferences!

@Ann42 So are you having trouble receiving emails? Did you check your notification settings under Your Account?

They are all ticked

@Ann42 What kind of device are you using to set your notification settings?  I'm on a laptop with Google Chrome and haven't had any problems what so ever.  If you are using an app I've seen Airbnb advise on twitter to refresh the cache and / or uninstall and reinstall it. The apps are notoriously untrustworthy.  If that doesn't do the trick, then contact Airbnb to see if they can set your notifications properly.
