I used to co-host with my daughter but she now asks me to be the principal host and she wants to be the co-host instead.  So we've changed position but what surprised me is that it is still her that is being notified of any notification coming from airbnb.  what should we do?

Host and co-host both receive notifications  - that's because the role of a co-host is to support the host. If you want to replace the main host completely, then you need to remove the details of the host from the site. There are some parameters that you can set, but it's how the site works..
