guest cancels but we still have to review each other.

yesterday i had a guest cancel her reservation a couple of hours before she was due to arrive, i think she was unhappy because we dont offer kitchen facilities which is clearly stated on our home preview. today i received a message from Airbnb asking me to review her. I contacted Airbnb who confirmed she will also be able to review me... this seems crazy, as we have never met, when i pointed this out to Airbnb they said 'but you have had a conversation'!!! we have typed a couple of messages to each other! i know i have to option not to write a review but what if this cancelled guest decides to write a bad review which than gets posted on my page?

They have this option for those who show up and then leave immedietly becasue the space is just really bad or not as promised.  I'm sure this happens as I have been a guests at a few places where I thought about turning around and walking out 30 seconds later.   In your situation perhaps its better if neither party is able to write a review but not sure how to do one without the other except on a case by case basis.  If this guest does write you a review (although I don't know why they would unless you were rude over text or something), but if they do, you can respond and say they never actually arrived and have never seen the space.

@Caroline818   I would not review her unless she reviews you personally, then just state the guest cancelled X hours before check in. Only give stars for her communication. If she leaves you a bad review you can fight to get it removed if she gives you low marks in accuracy, cleaniness, location, check in and value you can argue those points as she never actually saw the property. Communication would be the only ligit category she could judge. The CEO back pedaled a few weeks ago on her "no review if you had not been to the property" statement unfortunately. You can still request it be removed if its content is not right, it's up to CS rep more times than not how it works out.
