penalty free cancellation?

Hi,

      One guest booked by instant booking. Another booking website does not show availablitilies (I did use iCal sync, and if I login, I can see it's booked during those days). So I got a booking from another booking website.

      I can make $300 more for just two days overlapping.

      For instant booking, it's penalty free cancellation?

      I'll reject another booking website request, only $300+ difference, but I have a booking, for example, 28 days, now only got $4600+, in case I got $10K from another booking website, I may think ......?

      Just want double confirm: For instant booking, it's penalty free cancellation?

Something similar is happening to me and I canceled my booked reservation with a guest because the pricing was wrong and she book without telling me and I have someone else who wants to stay more time and pay the new price. I canceled the old reservation and the date is now blocked!!!

Hello @Monica451

It sounds like you haven't read up on what happens if you cancel as a host. Airbnb takes this very seriously and imposes penalties including blocking the dates as you have indicated these dates aren't available.

Have a look at Airbnb Help Centre and search for host cancellations.

The first guest was able to book because you have Instant Book turned on.

I would recommend you turn it off until you become more familiar with how Airbnb works.

Penalty free cacellation only applies to limited circumstances, you are responsible to ensure your Calendar is up to date, you can not rely on iCal.
