pricing 2017/ not ready/instant book

Hi unfortunately we had a death in the family this week and i was so pre occupied that i ignored my 2017 air b&b calendar and somebody booked a month and i had to cancel this...but air B&B have blocked my whole month for 2017 so i cannot get bookings that month ? Just upset that its so strict. I can produce a death certificate...if i have to. But I maybe have to remove the instant book option as this caught me unprepared. Can somebody please advise ? in all my years with air B&B..i only cancelled one weekend in june because the guest wanted me to and he was going to lose his money and i did not know at the time it will remain blocked because i cancelled. isn't there a 24 hour time line at least for me to cancel a reservation ?

I've dealt with a similar situation before. Advise Airbnb of this by phone, they are generally very understanding. But without calling them and getting it fixed yes Airbnb automatically blocks the cancelled dates. It sucks.

HI @Sarah218, no there is no window within which you can cancel a reservation as a host without penalties. But it does sound you like have extenuating circumstances so contact AirBnB using one of the methods and numbers here.
