refusal to check out

a guest received 2 reminders about check out time.  At time of check out they left to go out to breakfast and all their things were spread around the space.  We put all their things on the front porch so we could clean for the next guests.  What was the legal way to handle this?

Yanna,

i do not know the legal way of doing this

But... if the guest knows the check out time and if they asked you if they could stay longer and even after this they abused the check out time, i think collecting all theirs stuff and putting all of that in one place in order to clean the space/house/room was the best to be made.

@Yanna0 i think you did the right thing especially if they exceeded your published check-out time.  Personally i think you have every right to make an additional rental claim through airbnb if they did not respect that.  Hotels do it without batting an eye lid.
