Is it possible to have a smoking penalty as a host in a non smoking unit? Can I put it in my listing so guests know that if they smoke they will be penalized?
I'm not sure how you'd handle that, @Adi3. Perhaps if you indicate in your House Rules that violation of the No Smoking rule will result in the cost of dry-cleaning all the bedlinen & towels, and all extra cleaning of soft furnishings, being taken from the security deposit.
Maybe determine ahead of time how much such measures would cost. Then you could give a precise amount that would be deducted.
Unfortunately, I've had a couple instances where guests have smoked weed in my house - and the smell was nasty! To counter act this, I have added a line in my house rules that states any smoking inside the premises will result in a $250 charge. Since then I've not had a single smoker inside!
(If you like my response, be sure to give it a thumbs up!)
