Airbnb added additional dollars to price and I'm not sure why...

I recently had a proposal for five nights at a condo in Park City.  The price I put up was $455/night.  My potential guest was given a total of $2275 + $321 airbnb fee = $2,596.

However, when he went to finish, the total was listed as $2943.29.

This was $347.29 more than what was itemized for him.  Does anyone know where these additional fees come from or how to contact AirBnB to remove them?  I'm really frustrated as he walked away from renting with me.  Thanks for your help!

Carol

@Carol8840 It is usually tax as by US law the figures must be shown without tax. All a bit bizarre to us Europeans.

Ah, I understand.   Yes, it seems our 'transparency' isn't so transparent always.   Thanks for replying.

@Carol8840  Taxes. They have to be paid, and they aren't included in what you've said above.

A stay would be the lodging cost, AirBnB fee, and taxes. I don't think it's some sinister plot by AirBnB to change your prices.

Thanks Kia.  I haven't been a host on AirBnB before so wasn't sure.  As a Guest, I never noticed.
