Automatic confirmation

After a short few days with good experiences on getting reservations, it was very obvious that was short-lived. After a few days, my wife and I started receiving automatic confirmations, which was causing booking conflicts and when we contacted Airbnb, they claimed that it was something that I had done when I specifically went into the settings and made sure that reservations could only be done after I review them and personally confirm them myself.

exactly 3 days after I went on with a customer service representative and corrected the switch that was on for automatic confirmations the same thing occurred and when I contacted them, they claimed this time it was an internal error, but in the meantime, it is causing me to get negative reviews and after a few negative reviews you never get bookings ever again. It has come to my attention that after reading so many good things about the owner who created Airbnb he is no longer involved in the day-to-day operations, and he can no longer trust the people that he has running the site The new people that are in charge of everything have decided that it is financially better for them to reroute calls to India, where there is a constant language barrier and a disdain for American people.

I can only say that in my short experience with Airbnb, it is imperative that you list your property in as many places as possible because Airbnb doesn’t appear to be what it was once and that’s very very sad because I was really looking for good things and happiness and doing business with the site. And now I noticed another issue with the site which is it becomes impossible to get to the hosting site to check messages and messages are not getting to the people that the site is directing them to which shows that it’s an IT problem and when it becomes that there are IT problems that are not corrected quickly then all the customers that are hosting for victim too, the substandard site.

Hi @Thomas4282

It sounds link you've been using Instant Book, when your intention was to use Request to Book instead?

Here is a link that details how to turn Instant Book on and off:

How Instant Book works - Airbnb Help Center

Whether you use Instant Book or not, you shouldn't have any booking conflicts, as the Airbnb calendar should always be up to date with all bookings. If it's not up to date, you'll soon have significant problems in the Airbnb search ranking, as you'll end up declining too many enquiries. If you're taking bookings from other booking sites, you can link the calendars to make sure the Airbnb calendar is automatically updated. You can also link your own personal calendar (if you take direct bookings), or block the dates manually as soon as an off-platform booking has been confirmed.

I don't see the negative reviews that you mention on your profile, only two 5-star reviews!
