Availabilities / bug ?

Hello,

I need your help.

Certain 2025 dates in our calendars are manually blocked by us (for own holidays). When we try to make them available again (because we decided finally not to go in our property during these initial dates), Airbnb says that it is not possible with a strange message saying that departures and arrivals are not possible at these dates. I call airbnb for 2 weeks now and tell them the issue but it is still not working as it used to to previously. Does anyone else face this issue as well ? Best, JC

Hi @Magaly-Et-Jean-Christophe0

Best is to check your availability window

Hi Patricia. Thank you for you answer. We did, we have (and we always had) 24 months in advance, thus we should be able to unbook one week in august 2025 but we are not allowed to do so...

Hi @Magaly-Et-Jean-Christophe0

You can check for no-check-in/no-check-out days:

Go to calendar, availability, more availability settings. Make sure there aren't days clicked that are restricted for check-ins and check-outs.

If you are using professional tools, you need to check those dates for rule sets that may be blocking arrivals/departures.

Let us know whether this solves the issue.

Thank you for your answer. Airbnb answered me saying they are having a bug. That is why it was not possible to sort it out ourselves although we did not do anything more than in the past. Thank you

Hi @Magaly-Et-Jean-Christophe0

Yes...I have noticed this bug also. Be sure you don't have a Rule Set on the dates involved or any restrictions on check-in or check-out days of the week as @Shelley159 mentions. I was able to unblock the dates after removing a Rule Set for the dates involved.

There is definitely a bug though. It shouldn't matter if you have a Rule Set applied or check-in or check out day of the week restriction to simply unblock a date. Those should only apply to actual reservations; not unblocking a date.

If you're not currently using Pro Tools and the multi-calendar, I would turn on Pro Tools in your account and use the multi-calendar to try and unblock the dates (all Hosts can use Pro Tools now):

Turn on Pro Tools

Click Profile Picture

Go to Account

Click Professional Hosting Tools

Click Manage

Hi @Joan2709 ,

thank you I will try this.

Airbnb makes me wait for 3 weeks now... I am surprised that they can sort this bug out already.

Thanks a lot.

Best,

JC

Hi @Magaly-Et-Jean-Christophe0

Please post the listing link to the property you are having the issue with, as you have multiple listings (or is the problem on all your properties)?

I am also seeing dates in October 2024 on one of your listings that says "Host Unavailable" even though the dates are unblocked. It looks like you have set a 7night minimum? Hosts usually set check-in/check-out restrictions on days of the week if using a 7night minimum to prevent gaps in their calendar? It looks like you want guests to check-in & check-out only on Saturdays?

If that is what you are doing, the dates in 2025 should not be "blocked" per se (looks like you have set 24 months as your default availability), but will default to your restricted check-in/check-out settings and should still allow a booking if the guest wants to book a 7night minimum with a check-in/check-out on Saturdays only on the dates in August 2025. I am not seeing the dates "blocked", but not sure which listing you are referring to? I am seeing the min stay restriction of 7nights and check-in/check-out restrictions set to Saturday only. If the date is truly "blocked", it would show gray shading with a line thru the date on your calendar:

The only way to override your default check-in/check-out restrictions, or min stay,  is to create a Rule Set to apply to specific dates to override your default min stay and check-in/check-out restrictions.

I will mention that Airbnb changed their calendar settings with the Summer 2023 release in a major way. Hosts wanting to block/unblock dates outside their availability window (perhaps for personal use) had to turn on Pro Tools and use the multicalendar to do that. They could no longer do it on the regular calendar.

I don't know what this means but maybe why you can't unblock dates?  On two of your listings when I click on a 2025 date the system won't let me.  I receive the message "Host Unavailable".

@Marie8425 Hi Marie. Hmmmm... thank you for your message. That's interesting. Could you please tell me which listings are concerned ? Or screenshots of what you see ?

Thanks a lot.

@Magaly-Et-Jean-Christophe0

I noticed on the top left it has a messageUntitled.jpg about not available for "Check In".  Maybe your check in date rules?  That was your second  Villa listing.  Unique, quiet Villa in the nature (ocean and golf)
