Booking and Communicating Issues

My family and I are planning to go to Antalya, Turkey in May/Jun which we heard nice things about it . But sadly these past few days that we are trying to make a reservation, they all cancel on us mostly without any reason. I do not know why. My wife and i always write polite reviews to our hosts after our stay and now that we want to travel internationally, this happens. One of the hosts in Turkey got mad at us for just reserving his place with Airbnb offered price and he rudely suggested that with that, airbnb offered, price we can sleep on the street. I am seriously giving up on traveling to Turkey. I do not know whats going on with people or Airbnb policy there!!!!! I would appreciate any help.

@Yaser9 Its very strange you have come up against so many bad hosts. Perhaps message the host before booking to check their place is available at the advertised price? I can only think the Turkish hosts are struggling to keep pricing up to date given their rampant inflation rate.

We too are struggling to get accommodation booked in Antalya for this October (2024).

To date I've had about 10 requests either declined or ignored. One host even told me that the owner of the property is a very bad person and they don't want me to be a victim. The property in question has 4.8 rating the most recent visit being November 2023. The majority of places I'm requesting have response rates of 90%+.

I'm aware there are some changes to rental law in Turkey where more stringent measures are being put in place however I'm unsure why these places are stlll being allowed to be shown as available. Should airbnb not be looking into this?

I am sorry you have had such a bad experience when trying to book @Yaser9

You could look at making bookings with experienced superhosts who offer instant book.
