I also noticed a significant reduction of reservations the past few months.
Airbnb informed me it was everywhere and less people traveling..
I posed the same question to Airbnb. I wasn't sure if I did something by changing my listing category or a lull in traveling. . I hope to hear from other hosts if they noticed a decline in bookings?
Closing question, ,, my last guest booked me in Jan. For the month of July. He waited till May 12 to cancel and get full refund. This guest rebooked for a shorter period and then posted 3 requested alterations, which I approved. A week lapsed and he canceled again. From here on this is subjective. I believe he waited till I got nervous without one reservation,to hang my hat on, I reduced my rent as incentive. Guess who rebooked???!
Yep, my guest with all the alterations. He got my place reduced and kept the monthly discount on a 20 day booking???? This was reviewed numerous times and no logic was found to correctly answer or explain the payout.
The reservation was used upto 17 days then the guest explained his house closed ahead of time, 4th alteration request. Which I missed. I graciously thanked the couple and explained not to expect the remaining 3 days to be returned.
The next morning at 4am pops up a " cancellation" of this reservation. Not only was I asked to return money for the 3 days after they left earlier, the reservation and guest's name no longer shows on my calendar or history?????
Has this been experienced by any hosts?
And I got the feeling the guest knew more than I did about working the site????
Comments,???
Thanks for reading and reaponding.
