Broken Equipment and refund policy

Hello,

I booked a flat for 15 days.

The dish washer never worked a.d host did not care.

After 5 days i called airbnb and got a refund ( took me 10minutes! Amazing).

The refund was 30% of the 5 days passed.

 

Now for the next 10 days the host didn t do anything. Dish washer still dead.

 

But it seems that because i already got a refund, i can t have another one.

 

But this is weird because if i complained after 10 days instead of 5, i would have double the money....

 

 

What do you think?

Is there a 30% refund policy for this kind of problem?

 

I m in france if that changes anything.

Who told you that you weren't illegible for the 30% refund for the broken dishwasher for the full duration of your stay - the host or Airbnb?

 

I would dispute this with Airbnb and explain that the dishwasher remained broken for the 15 day booking and yes a 30% refund for a broken or missing amenity is pretty standard on Airbnb.

what did the host say when you mentioned this @Martin6031 I am sorry they didn't offer to fix . 

 

a dishwasher is simple enough to replace if broken and probably cheaper than giving you a huge 30% discount for fifteen days 

 

If a dishwasher is essential to your stay you could look at having airbnb cancel for the last ten days so you can find alternative accommodation with the dishwasher . 

I am not sure how additional refunds work. Has the host flat out refused to replace the dishwasher ?

I'm sorry to hear the dishwasher was broken in the property you stayed in during the whole time!

 

Did you see the suggestions that Helen and Joelle shared with you? It would be great to hear if you've had a chance to talk to the host, and to explain to the Support team that this issue wasn't resolved in the end.

@Martin6031 It would seem that by continuing your stay, you've accepted that the dishwasher isn't working. If it was that crucial to your stay, you would have to check out and find another accommodation. It seems that this is about getting as much of a discount as possible? I'm confused.
