Check In Time

Check In Time

We are finding our guests pay little or no attention to our check in time 7:00 pm. It is as if we had not posted any time at all. Any suggestions to politely discourage this annoyance?

That's very late for a check in time. How are they able to get in before 7 pm?

That’s a very late time for check in? Usually it is after 2pm.

@Tiffany617 @Helen3 It is perhaps a bit late compared to most, but I think there are quite a few hosts who do in person check ins and can only do so once they have finished their day job.

@Tim806 As the check in is a bit later than most (and certainly late for those used to hotels) I would make a real point of this with guests, i.e. repeat it somewhere prominent in your listing if you haven't done so already and also in a direct message to guests, preferably before they book (or as soon as they book if you use IB), to remind them and ask them to confirm they are okay with that. I ask all guests to confirm their time of arrival ahead of their stay. It's been a very, very long time (years) since I had guests try to pitch up early.
