Earning points for your stays

Hi there! I have been using Airbnb for a little over 2 years now. I am traveling quite frequently and it would be really nice to have a program that appreciates your stays and gives back points (or cash) to use toward your rentals. Like when you earn miles for your flights. It would be a nice way to say thanks for using us. I know the rates have gone up in the past year so it makes it more difficult to find affordable monthly rentals for myself. If this is something that can be brought up it would be greatly appreciated! 

Oh and the other thing I was wondering about-besides the photos can there be a short video added to really get an idea of what some of these places look like? The photos are good but sometimes they don't have photos of the outside or some of them it is hard to tell the size of the unit and that can be frustrating. Just a thought.

Points are a great idea...you can provide feedback to Airbnb on that one. 

Airbnb does offer points for a stay at an Airbnb if you point a stay through HotelTonight (owned by Airbnb):

Airbnb does not allow Hosts to add video to a listing.

Oh I thought that’s where I was sending it to? I’ll have to figure out how to send something to them. Wow thanks Joan I never heard of that Hotel Tonight-is it just for hotels though? I frequently rent apartments and guest houses.

HotelTonight is an app for your phone. If you want to book a hotel, it will give you options for hotel rooms available by location.

Hi @Joan2709. Yes I have downloaded that app. I read though it has other options besides hotels but I could be mistaken. I don't stay in many hotels but if and when I hope to earn some money off my stays! And I did find the feedback page and sent over that information. I have sent it once before a while back so hopefully I will see that as an option soon!

HotelTonight is a helpful app to get discounted rates for a hotel in a shorter amount of time as they are trying to fill an empty room. I was introduced to it years ago in a travel blog and actually used it when traveling - it works best for securing a good price closer to the day of arrival. 

@Joan2709 when did Airbnb acquire HotelTonight?

Hi Lorina! Oh wow I have never heard of that at all! I don't stay at many hotels-mostly AIrbnb's. But good to have in case of an emergency.
