Why can we not search using filters for ‘outdoor space/ patio, etc.’ and whether a property has a ‘lift/elevator’ or not?

I agree! Until Airbnb adds these filters, you can use a "back door" filter for outdoor space by using the BBQ filter. Since most Hosts have the BBQ grill in an outdoor/patio space:
Hi Tony,
On Airbnb, while there isn’t a direct filter for amenities like “outdoor space” or “patio,” and specific features such as “lift/elevator,” accessibility filters can partially help to identify certain property characteristics, including whether there are steps or not.
For example, Airbnb's accessibility options allow users to search for listings with “step-free access” or “entrance without steps,” which can be especially helpful in determining whether a property has stairs. Though this doesn't guarantee the presence of an elevator or outdoor space, these filters can help narrow down listings that meet specific mobility and accessibility needs.
This is a useful workaround until Airbnb potentially adds more detailed filters, and it can be complemented by third-party tools like Airbnbase’s Superfilter for even more specific amenities.
I hope this helps.
All the best,
Upfish Management
Thanks, but it doesn’t really solve the concern. I know that it’s not difficult to add both of these filters at all and it would really help update your search parameters and allow people to find more properties that suit their needs, after all isn’t this is what you want? In addition and for people with disabilities there is an enormous difference with a 4th floor property yo go up flights of stairs as opted to taking a lift/elevator. Speak to your Marketing Dept. and have them update these filters please. I spent my life in Mktg. It’s no big deal believe me.
Hello @Tony2058
This has got to be my top recommendation for Airbnb - I totally agree with you! I'm a host and my listing has a great balcony with dining and seating furniture and yet guests can't search for this criteria as it doesn't exist as a filter😡 So frustrating for guests and hosts alike I agree.
Having an outside space is much appreciated by my guests but the only way I can show them I have this amenity is by having it as my cover photo but with over 1000 listings to choose from, the chances of guests seeing I have this feature is pretty slim. So time consuming for guests.
Best regards
Joëlle
@Joelle43 Agreed and it makes no sense. We can search using an ‘outdoor space’ filter on VRBO. But why under ‘Accessibility Features’ would they not have a filter for ‘lift/elevator’? Is this not an important consideration for that group?

Clever! Many thanks.
Because Tony, Airbnb consider it's way more important to provide the most relevant filters such as
rather than take up valuable space with stupid trivialities like 'Multi Storey assistance'......'Outdoor cooking/entertaining'.......'Superhost Status' which actually meant something rather than this silly 'everyone's earned one', Guest Favorite!
Tony, Airbnb are very much into 'feel good' information rather than relevant information.
It isn't possible for me to accurately describe the sleeping arrangement in my studio listing. It has to conform to what Airbnb thinks I offer.....not what I actually offer!
But, I live with it!
Cheers.........Rob.
