Food restrictions

I host a bedroom in my house. I don't like it when guests fry bacon. Grease gets everywhere, the smell won't leave, pans get ruined, I am worried the pipes will get clogged. Is it asking too much to forbid bacon? So far I just bite my tongue.

Thanks

Hey @Portia32  this is a good question. I’m also not a fan of bacon! Did you have a bad experience with a guest who overcooked a little? Or is this a recurring issue with your listing?

I personally would find it hard to restrict guests cooking in the shared kitchen this way. For starters, how would you enforce such a rule. Would you have to check what every single guest is cooking? I would be worried a rule like this would create more problems than it solves.

You could say your house is “pork free”, many people do that for health/religious reasons. But that wouldn’t cover all the other potentially greasy foods…

If this issue with bacon was just one instance, perhaps you could set up a grease trap or do preventive maintenance in your kitchen sink/pipes? Might be easier to do that, than go through the trouble of explaining the restrictions to guests each time.
