I guess I pressed the wrong button

I just received a request to book my home for a weekend in February.  I need to decline.  As usual in such circumstances, instead of just pressing decline, I wrote the requester a note thanking him for the request but saying I could not accommodate him that weekend.  Somehow it went through as a reservation.  I don't know if I accidentally pressed accept or if writing to him automatically triggered an acceptance (it never has before). but  now when I want to cancel it says I will be charged $50.  The person requested in February and I responded with a no message within about 1 minute.  I have asked him to cancel but have not received a response.  Please help me with this!

@Jane3843 If you can not accommodate the guest, you have no other option then to cancel the reservation.

The guest can not cancel the reservation, as the guest would (at least) not be refunded the Airbnb service costs.
